ESD supplies a range of USB dongles. The most popular of the USB dongle range is the USB-WT11 dongle which allows for the Bluegiga WT11 to be accessed using a USB port. USB-Bluetooth dongles are available very cheaply, but the Bluegiga range incorporate the iWrap firmware which allows for several different programmable profiles which are very useful for developers. The main profiles are SPP (Serial Port Profile), BGIO (Bluegiga I/O for using input and output ports) and HID (Human Interface Device such as a keyboard). ESD are the sole suppliers for USB to Bluegiga dongles, and the USB-WT11 incorporates most of the functionality of the Bluegiga development system for less than half the cost (and a quarter the physical area).
